What are the types of skin and how to care for them?

Many of us are looking for things that will help us get fresh, radiant skin with clear skin, and many are looking for reasons to get it, products to buy, and ways to do so, whether according to genders, such as men and women, and their own care schedules, or ages, such as a routine for teenagers, a routine for young people, or a routine for the elderly.

This does not require a magic recipe, but rather specific care using carefully selected products and an appropriate daily or weekly routine.

To obtain clear, fresh skin requires internal and external care, in terms of products and food and drink, in order to obtain the best results. Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it is important to take care of it.

Here are some tips for taking care of your skin, regardless of its type:

First : Regular cleansing at a rate of once a day with a skin cleanser at the end of the day

Second: Moisturizing using medicinal moisturizers.

Third : Use a serum suitable for the skin.

Fourth : Use either natural or chemical exfoliants to reduce deposits

Fifth : Ensure internal hydration by drinking enough water.

Sixth : Eating healthy and reducing fats and sugars

Seventh : Use natural lightening creams, such as those containing shea butter or cocoa butter.

Eighth : Use natural masks or ones that contain beneficial substances

Ninth : Get enough sleep

Tenth : In order to maintain the care we have taken, we must use sunscreen, even on cloudy days. Sunscreen protects your skin from the sun's harmful rays, which may cause premature aging, wrinkles, and skin cancer.

Finally : Avoid smoking. Smoking harms your skin and makes it more susceptible to wrinkles, age spots, and other problems.

Understanding your skin type also helps you in how to take care of it. Depending on the skin, we may determine a specific routine. There are four main skin types:

  • Normal skin
  • dry skin
  • Combination skin
  • oily skin

Normal skin, neither too dry nor too oily, has a smooth, even texture and healthy radiance.

Dry skin lacks moisture and can feel tight, itchy, or flaky.

Oily skin secretes a lot of sebum, which can lead to clogged pores and the appearance of pimples and blackheads.

Combination skin is a combination of normal, dry and oily skin. It may be oily in the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and dry on the cheeks and other areas.

How do you know your skin type?

The best way to know your skin type is to pay attention to how it feels and looks. If you are not sure, you can always visit a dermatologist for help but there is a home way to find out the type.

  1. Wash your face well using cleanser to get rid of all lotions and oils
  2. Dry it with a soft towel and leave it for an hour without adding anything
  3. Wipe the face after an hour with a soft tissue all over the face
  4. Examine the tissue carefully because it will show either oils, crusts, or nothing

Results :

If you have combination skin, the effects of oil will be limited to the areas of the nose and forehead, while the rest of the areas, such as the chin and cheeks, you will find dry.

If it is oily, its effects will appear in all areas of the tissue

If your skin is dry, you will not find any traces of oil on your face. Rather, you will find the tissues completely dry, while there are a few white flakes that indicate dryness and flaking of the skin.

However, if your skin is normal, the wipes will remain completely clean, so that you will never find any traces of oils or peels on them.

Here are some tips for taking care of different skin types:

For normal skin: Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer formulated for normal skin.

Dry skin: Use a gentle, moisturizing cleanser that contains hyaluronic acid or glycerin. Avoid using harsh soaps or scrubs, as they can strip the natural oils from your skin.

Oily skin: Use a gentle cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Avoid using products that contain oils or perfumes, as they can clog pores.

Combination skin: Use a gentle cleanser designed for combination skin. Use a moisturizer for dry areas and an oil-free moisturizer for oily areas.

No matter your skin type, it's important to be gentle with it, avoid harsh soaps, scrubs, and chemicals, and make sure to apply sunscreen every day. With proper care, your skin will look and feel its best.
